Our MUMC Mission Team
Has Returned From It’s Liberian Mission Trip
In 2009 several members of the Middletown United Methodist Church visited the Hope For The Deaf school in Monrovia, Liberia. During this visit this team conducted the first ever Vacation Bible School for the students. VBS was a success, and this began a covenant relationship between the school and our church.
On July 10, 2012, the Middletown United Methodist Church sent an eight member team to the school to conduct another Vacation Bible School. This is a strong mission team, consisting of 2 educators and 5 members who are fluent in signing. In addition to conducting the Bible School, team members conducted classes introducing new teaching methods to the teachers and discussions on nutrition. The team brought God’s love to 75 children and witnessed their development and needs.
Contributions are still needed for this trip. The Team was responsible for all of their own expenses during their stay in Liberia and VBS materials and meals for the children during VBS.
$30 pays for VBS materials and a snack for 1 child–$50 pays for room and board for 1 team member
$75 pays for local transportation for 1 team member.
